The 2026 Saluda Softball season was truly one for the history books. We finished the season with an incredible 30–4 record, won our third consecutive Region Championship, and captured our second consecutive Upper State Championship. In the Upper State Championship, we defeated Chesnee 7–2 to earn our spot back in the State Championship.
We then faced Chesterfield in the Class 2A State Championship Series. We opened the series with a dominant 7–1 victory before traveling to Chesterfield and shutting them out 3–0 to sweep the series and become 2026 Class 2A State Champions.
Our girls finished the postseason a perfect 8–0 and ended the season on a 14-game winning streak. But more than the numbers, this team showed what happens when you believe in each other, work for each other, and refuse to quit. After finishing as state runner-up the year before, these girls came back determined to finish the job—and they did. They made history by bringing home the first state softball championship in Saluda program history.
