Meredith Miller-Rikard

Welcome to my home away from home--Saluda Elementary!  My name is Meredith Miller-Rikard and I have been teaching for eleven years.  All of my time has been at Saluda Elementary (because I couldn't imagine being anywhere else)!  I have a bachelor's degree from North Greenville College in elementary education and a master's from Columbia College in Divergent Learning.  Currently, I am teaching third grade science and social studies classes.

I am married to Brandon Rikard. We have a son, Inman, who will be six in October and we are expecting our second sweet boy in November.  We also have two beloved Boston Terriers named Raleigh and Oliver.  Together we enjoy boating, camping, and reading children's stories.

As Allan Bloom once said, "Education is the movement from darkness to light".  This movement is my goal.  In my classroom I try to take the minds of students from the dark and show them the light that knowledge can bring.  Making everyday lessons shine can be a challenge, but it is one that I believe is important and well worth all of my effort!
